Visit of South African delegation to FLNR
On October 31, 2025 the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research hosted a delegation from South Africa. The purpose of the visit was to discuss strengthening scientific and technological cooperation between South African scientific centers and JINR, and to get acquainted with the research infrastructure of the Institute.
The delegation included representatives from the South African Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI), the National Research Foundation (NRF), the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) and MINTEK Research Organization. Cecil Mosoka, acting Director for International Bilateral Cooperation at the DSTI headed the delegation.





A meeting at the Scientists’ House with representatives of the JINR Directorate and Laboratories became the highlight of the visit. FLNR was represented by Deputy Director for Research Grzegorz Kaminski, and Deputy Head of the Center for Research of Applied Physics Alexander Nechaev.
At the end of the visit the delegation visited the Experimental Building of the SHE Factory at FLNR. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing a comprehensive cooperation program and further strengthening scientific and technological ties.
