Annotation 

NAM-ECRIS numerical model was used to study reaction of extracted multicharged ion currents of DECRIS-PM source to decrease of source hexapole length. Several centimeters decrease results in ~25 % increase of Ar8+ ion currents. It’s shown that an additional uniformly magnetized ring on extraction side may increase currents several times by optimisation of magnetic field profile in ECR zone.
