FLNR scientist – RAS professor
During the meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences on December 23, 2025 the RAS professor staff elected at the general meeting of the Academy of Sciences on December 9 was approved. Alexander Karpov, FLNR deputy director for Scientific research became one of the new RAS professors in the Physical Sciences Department.
The title “RAS Professor” is an honorary one and awarded to Russian scientists – doctors of sciences under 50 who has national or international achievements, recognized by the scientific society and participates in realization of the main tasks and functions of the Academy. Furthermore a candidate for the title should have scientific works published in highly rated journals and generally high bibliometric indices. A potential RAS professor also must read courses and actively participate in academic staff training namely have students who defended dissertations.
