Are You a Philosopher or a Scientist? Your Call

Aniruddha Dey, FLNR research scientist, will deliver a lecture “Are You a Philosopher or a Scientist? Your Call”.
Scientists study the world around them using a scientific method, through observations or experiments, while philosophers explore abstract concepts such as truth, meaning and ethics by reasoning and logics. However, both philosophers and scientists try to understand the world through critical thinking, logical reasonings and fidelity to truth. The difference between them is that for a scientist doubt is an adversary but for a philosopher it is an ally. The choice between these two approaches will be discussed at the seminar.
