Moscow schoolchildren at FLNR – FLEROV LABORATORY of NUCLEAR REACTIONS

April 11, 2023. A group of Moscow Khoroshevskaya school students visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. For 38 students of 8-11 grades of the engineering and chemical and biological profiles the excursion to the SHE Factory was organized. They had an opportunity to meet with Academician Yuri Oganessian, the world famous scientist, Scientific Leader of FLNR.

Alexander Karpov, FLNR Scientific Secretary gave an introductory lecture on the history of the discovery of Mendeleev Table elements and the Laboratory’s research.
Yuri Oganessian told about the history of the Laboratory of Nuclear Reaction and its founder – Academician Georgy Flerov, as well as about the creation of the SHE Factory. The students and their curators addressed many questions to the outstanding scientist.

The students and their curators were presented with Mendeleev Tables autographed by Yuri Tsolakovich to remind them of this trip.
