Observation of a positive parity partial wave in the low-energy spectrum of 7He

“Observation of a positive parity wave in the low-energy spectrum of 7He nucleus” article has been published in Physical Review C Journal by a group of FLNR scientists.

FLNR physicists studied 7He nucleus in 1H(6He, p)7He reaction at 6He beam energy of 29 MeV/nucleon. Spectrum of 7He nucleus was measured up to excitation energy of 8 Me/V above the neutron decay threshold. Observation of the neutron angular distribution asymmetry from 7Не → 6Не + n decay relative to the direction of the momentum transferred in the reaction indicates the presence of a broad state of the positive parity (1/2+) in the spectrum at an energy of about 3Me/V.
