At the International School of Accelerator Physics on cyclotrons

International School of Accelerator Physics: Cyclotrons organized by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the National Research Nuclear University “MIFI” started on August 26, 2024. The event brought together more than 50 participants from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. 29 lectures from the leading specialists of FLNR and LHEP JINR, NRNU MIFI and “Radiomedsyntez” radiopharmaceutical company will be read for them till August 30, 2024.

The School’s extensive scientific program includes such topics as synthesis of superheavy elements, heavy ion accelerators in fundamental science and applied research, diagnostics and dynamics of charged particle beams in electromagnetical fields and many others. Operation of the main cyclotron systems and the operating principles of other types of accelerators: linear accelerators, colliders, synchrotrons, – and related equipment, such as ion sources and nuclei fission separators will be considered in details. The emphasis is on the operation of the FLNR facilities where advanced fundamental and applied research is carried out.

On Friday, August 30, on closing the School an excursion of the School participants to the SHE Factory is expected. The social part of the School program includes a quiz and competitions for the best question to the speakers and the best picture.

The School lectures are broadcasted online, the video recordings of them will be available on its clousing on JINR information resources.
