Academician Yu.Ts.Oganessian is the first laureate of the UNESCO-Russia D.I.Mendeleev prize

On November 3, 2021 laureates of the UNESCO-Russia D.I.Mendeleev International prize in basic sciences were announced. Academician Yu.Ts.Oganessian, Scientific Leader of Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reaction became the first laureate of this Prize.

This high reward was conferred on Academician Yu.Ts.Oganessian “in recognition of the outstanding discoveries which widened Periodic Table borders as well as considerable contribution to the support of basic sciences all over the world.”

The prizes will be awarded in UNESCO headquarters in Paris on November 15, 2021.
