Heavy Ion Physics and its applications

Yu.Ts.Oganessian, Yu.E.Penionzhkevich “Heavy Ion Physics and its applications” is a new textbook issued by JINR Publishing Department and based on the authors’ lectures in MEPhI university, both professors of this institution.
Peculiarities of heavy ion reactions are described in this book. Classical ways of heavy ion research at 100 MeV/nucleon energy are discussed. Classification of heavy ion accelerators and up-to-date methods of registration of nuclear reaction products are given.
Some issues of heavy ion use in adjacent sciences are presented as well. This book is intended for graduate and postgraduate students specializing in nuclear physics. It may be very useful for the experimental nuclear physics specialists.
