Registration for the 2nd International African Symposium on exotic nuclei is now open

From December 9 to 13, 2024 the iThemba LABS accelerator center (South Africa) and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research will hold the Second International African Symposium on exotic nuclei (IASEN-2024)< /a> which will take place in Cape town (South Africa). The Symposium will focus on the study of nuclei in extreme states, in particular at the boundaries of nuclear stability (from ultra-light neutron- and proton-rich to superheavy nuclei).

The event covers the following topics: production of exotic nuclei or beams of rare ions, fundamental or applied research using beams of radioactive ions, nuclear reactions and astrophysics, nuclear structure, isotopes in nuclear medicine.

The first IASEN Symposium was held in 2013 with JINR participation.
